The scientists might think we were planning something behind their backs. But we wouldn't have. I just wanted to talk.

Yeah, I get that. Well, how 'bout this - you wanna teach me some of your signs? I can teach you some back.

Did you make up a sign language too?

[awwnoun]

Nah, I'm not that creative. We've got one, where I come from, and I know it 'cause I had to learn when I lost my hearing.

But-- you can hear now, can't you?

[awwnoun]

Yeah. [ He switches on the video, and taps at the purple hearing aides on both his ears. ] 'Cause of these.

What are they?

[awwnoun]

Hearing aids. They make it so my ears work but only while they're in.

[She hesitates, then turns on the video and signs something quickly. It's definitely not ASL or any other known sign language, but she's fast and fluid with it, and clearly practiced.]

[ He grins a little at it. That's pretty impressive. Doesn't look like ASL, sure, but that's okay. Clint signs her name in ASL. ]

Yes. I made an alphabet, and signs for all the important words I could think of. And a sign that meant a question mark, and another that means joking.
